Rhinebeck Wrap Up

Well, we’re back from Rhinebeck, and geez, are we fulfilled. The leaves were beautiful, the doughnuts were exactly as I remembered(YUM), the knitwear on display(OH MY!), all the vendors brought their “A Game,” as usual, and the crowds did not disappoint. We want to thank everyone for coming out to the festival and for stopping by the booth. We want to shout out to just a couple of the many smiling faces that came by to see us: Fiber Artist, Thomas Victor, it is always a pleasure to see you, Podcasters, Needles at the Ready, I see a magpie in your future hehehe, Fiber Arts Teacher, Debbie Held, hope your classes went well. We want to follow up with a huge thank you to all the new and returning customers who trusted us with your purchase. We’re always here if you need some help. Also Dave and I would like to thank the fabulous staff at Daedalus who not only spent hours on their feet at the festival, but spent many hours leading up to the festival building, boxing, and loading all the things, we can’t do it with out each and every one of you, Blake, Karen, Jenn, Katie, and Evanita, you are all amazing, Thank You!!

Black Sparrow with Teal Trim

Black Friday Shop Update - November 28th at 4 PM EDT

As our year comes to a close, it’s time to talk about our last big update. We’ve been busy building as well as matching our festival stock with their forever homes. Now that we know what remains, it's time to open sales to the public. So, we will be doing a Black Friday sale on Friday, November 28th, 2025 at 4 PM Eastern. This update will include Magpies, Martins, Penelopes, Sparrows, Starling V3FP, Roly-Polies, and Whirligigs.


Keep in mind that the Starlings are standard Color with Black Trim or Black with Color Trim. Please also note that the Magpies and Starlings were built as festival stock. We attempt to match all remaining festival stock to queue members. This is a complicated process, as most requests are for custom color combos, making standard color combos “Not Applicable.” Wheels that are not matched with a queue member are then offered on our shop updates.


For the Black Friday Update will be offering the following special discounts:

$100 Off - Sparrow, Starling 3 Flyers Bundle, Martin, and Roly-Poly/Whirligig Bundle

$200 Off - Magpie Both Flyers Bundle

Penelope - The first 20 purchases will get a free 20-pack of Triangle Cards (enough cards to weave the Sheep pattern)


For our Bundle deals, we are using a new to us app for Shopify that will allow you to add the full bundle to your cart. This will make it easier to get everything into your cart and checked out as quickly as possible. Since this is a new feature in our shop, we want folks to get to know the features ahead of time to ensure you know how things will look and function when the shop update goes live.


Starling V3FP All Three Flyers Bundle

When the Starlings are available, you’ll be able to click on the Starling listing, and you’ll be provided with our standing listing information along with a NEW section below it, “Bundle & Get $100 OFF!”


Please check the main listing information to determine what color option you want, and then select the options within the Bundle area to get your discount. Note the Starlings will be either a Color Body with Black Trim OR a Black Body with Color Trim. Once you've made your color selections, click “Get this Bundle” to add all items to your cart with the discount.

Magpie V2 Both Three Flyers Bundle

When the Magpies are available, you’ll be able to click on the Magpie listing, and you’ll be provided with our standing listing information along with a NEW section below it, “Bundle & Get $200 OFF!” Please check the main listing information to determine what color option you want, and then select the options within the Bundle area to get your discount.


Please note that your Magpie Flyers will come with the same trim as the body. To keep things easy, please keep the default settings for the flyers as shown in this screenshot. We will make sure your flyers are the same trim color as your wheel. Once you've made your color selection, click “Get this Bundle” to add all items to your cart with the discount.

For those wanting to purchase both our Roly-Poly and Whirligig as a set, we will be offering $100 off when purchased together. How to Prepare for the Shop Update

General

  • Make sure you have a Daedalus Shop account. If you haven't already signed up for a shop account login already on the shop, you'll want to ensure you do that ahead of time. At the top of the shop, you'll see a little person icon. Simply click on this, and on the next page, you'll click "Create account" to set up your account. Please ensure you fill out all the information and set up your shipping address so you don't have to worry about that later.

  • We highly recommend that you familiarize yourself with our shop.

  • For the best shopping experience, we recommend using a device that is capable of using Apple Pay or Google Pay. These methods of payment, if set up, are extremely quick. We also recommend if using PayPal to ensure that you are already logged in to your PayPal account in advance.

  • You'll want to ensure you add any additional items you'd like to purchase before the shop update. This could include things like a Speed Controller, which is required to operate our wheels. If you already have one of our wheels, you don't need to purchase another controller. You can also add extra packs of bobbins, and a motor extension cable. Anything you can prepare in advance so that you can get through checkout as quickly as possible will improve your chances of scoring a wheel.

  • Our machines are in high demand, so they can go quickly, but we encourage everyone who would like one of our wheels, winders and/or looms to try, and if you don't succeed in this batch, there will be more batches in the future!

  • Some items may sell out quicker than others while other items may take a bit longer so don't hesitate to check the shop even if you are late to the update.

  • If you are purchasing a Bundle deal, please make sure to use the Bundle Offering to add the items to your cart rather than adding them individually.


Large Purchases

If you are purchasing multiple large devices, such as a combination of multiple wheels, winders, and/or looms, your order may need to be packed in multiple boxes. If we need to ship multiple boxes, we will send an email to notify you of the additional shipping invoice charge.

Batteries

Holiday Closure and Shipping Time Frames

Please bear in mind that this is a massive shop update, and it will take us time to pack up all the orders. Note that made-to-order items will add a slight delay to your order shipment. We will ship orders out as soon as possible.


The Shop will close for the remainder of the year to do inventory and books during the holidays, we will be closing on Wednesday, December 10th. The last shipments for the year will go out on Monday, December 15th.
