Post SOAR/Rhinebeck Sale - October 24th

SOAR was so much fun; it was a very relaxed atmosphere with lots of good conversation and spinning. The marketplace was at such an intimate venue with soothing chandelier lighting and large windows. We enjoyed the company of Greenwood Fiberworks (Some Yak/Silk Top, Merino/Camel/Silk Top, and Black label Yarn came home with me), Spanish Peacock Spindles (A mini Batt by the Peahen & 5 Spindles hitched back to KY), Flying Fibers (Jeri was kind enough to gift me a novel "The Fall of the Loom"), and Red Stone Glen (I bought some embroidery books and a bluster bay shuttle for a friend). We also got to say hi to some great teachers like Maggie Casey & Charan Sachar.

Rhinebeck really is an incredible event that takes place during a magical time of year. The leaves are falling, and there is a crisp chill in the air that is perfect for pulling out all the sweaters, shawls, and cowls we’ve been working on all year. This year Dave and I tried the lobster bisque that the lobster roll truck was selling, OH MY!! It was so delicious, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars; would highly recommend!!!

So the numbers have been released by NYS&W; the official numbers are 20,000 people on Saturday and 14,000 people on Sunday. WOW, Right?! We were shocked also. But mixed in with all the chaos were some good laughs and interesting conversations. We were happy to see Rachel & Renee from Table 10 Podcast, Andrea Mowry, Macrina & Stefi from Inglenook Fibers, and Kevin and Ray from Needles at the Ready, who stopped by to pick up one of the Rhinebeck Edition Starlings we called Maple, just to name a few.

I came home with a batt, a bag of mini batts "Dancing Skies", and 2 braids from the Woodland Pixie, a project bag from Three Bags Full Studio I gifted to a staff member, and a Jenny Blue Pottery dish.

I want to thank everyone for stopping by at both SOAR & Rhinebeck, and we can’t wait until next year. See you at Maryland 2027!
Post Rhinebeck Sale
This year, following Rhinebeck, we’ve decided to offer some of the specials to the public that were not able to make it to the festival. On Saturday, the 24th of October at 4 pm EDT, we will open the sale.
First, we are going to trim 5 Starlings that we are calling "The Falling Leaves Starling." It will be similar to our Rhinebeck Starling "Maple" but slightly different, making our second Limited Fall Wheel. "Falling Leaves" will be a Cranberry body with a pumpkin orifice reducer and Word, Yellow guides and Hunter tension bits. We hope you like her. She will be exempt from the Starling discount.
Sparrows with Soft Start/Stop Controller: $100 off
Starlings with Soft Start/Stop Controller: $100 off (“Falling Leaves” is exempt from this discount.)
Magpies: $200 off
Roly Poly and Whirligig Combos: $150 off
Wishing all of our new flock members happy spinning, weaving, and winding!
- Becca
