Shop Update - Saturday, September 12th at 4 PM EDT
We are pleased to announce that our next Penelope Shop Update will be on Saturday, September 12th at 4 PM EDT. We appreciate the patience of those awaiting this release. This batch will contain 100 Penelopes, which is significantly more than our prior two batches. Towards the bottom of this blog, we've included a more in-depth "How to Prepare for the Shop Update" section to help clarify how things work on Shopify. How to Prepare for the Shop Update
To help make sure folks know where to find everything, please review the following information.
Before the shop update starts, you'll want to sign into the Shop ahead of time and familiarize yourself with the Shop. Head over to https://shop.daedalusspinningwheels.com/ and click on the little person icon to sign in to your Shop account.
Once signed in, make sure your address information is up to date. You can do this by clicking on the little person icon and then selecting Profile to check all of your profile information.
Before the Shop Update starts, you'll want to add any additional items to your cart so that when the Shop Update goes live, you only need to worry about getting just the loom itself. This can include things like extra tablets, heddle kits, shuttles, and weaving kits.
To locate these items, along with where the Penelope listing will appear, locate the Penelope Shop Collection. You can either click the Weaving section in the top Navigation OR scroll down to the "Shop for Penelope & Accessories" section found on the main shop page.
Right before the Shop Update goes live, you'll want to refresh the page until you see the Penelope listing show up. Click on the Penelope listing to add it to your cart. Once you've added the item to the cart, you'll see a pop-up display of your cart items and a box that you must agree to in order to proceed to check out. This checkbox can also be found on the cart page itself.
Upon clicking Check Out, you'll be taken to the following page where you can either click "Pay now" Or select "check out as guest" to see the other payment options, including Shop, PayPal, Google Pay, Venmo, and Credit Card
General
Make sure you have a Daedalus Shop account. If you haven't already signed up for a shop account login on the shop, you'll want to ensure you do that ahead of time. At the top of the shop, you'll see a little person icon. Simply click on this, and on the next page, you'll click "Create account" to set up your account. Please ensure you fill out all the information and set up your shipping address so you don't have to worry about that later.
We highly recommend that you familiarize yourself with our shop so you know what to expect. By adding any additional items you want to purchase, this can help you familiarize yourself with how the shop works.
For the best shopping experience, we recommend using a device that is capable of using Apple Pay or Google Pay. These methods of payment, if set up, are extremely quick. We also recommend that, when using PayPal ensure that you are already logged in to your PayPal account in advance.
You'll want to ensure you add any additional items you'd like to purchase before the shop update. For spinning wheels, this could include things like a Speed Controller, which is required to operate our wheels (except for Dove and Martin). If you already have one of our wheels, you don't need to purchase another controller. You can also add extra packs of bobbins and a motor extension cable. For looms, this could include things like extra tablets and heddles. Anything you can prepare in advance so that you can get through checkout as quickly as possible will improve your chances of a successful purchase.
Please note that due to the number of orders that go through during a Shop Update, we do not combine orders. Please make sure to add any accessories to your cart ahead of the update, so all you will need to do is add your Shop Update item to your cart before checking out.
Our machines are in high demand, so they can go quickly, but we encourage everyone who would like one of our wheels, winders, and/or looms to try, and if you don't succeed in this batch, there will be more batches in the future!
Some items may sell out quicker than others, while other items may take a bit longer, so don't hesitate to check the shop even if you are late to the update.
Large Purchases
If you are purchasing multiple large devices, such as a combination of multiple wheels, winders, and/or looms, your order may need to be packed in multiple boxes. If we need to ship multiple boxes, we will send an email to notify you of the additional shipping invoice charge.
Outside Continental United States
If you are outside the Continental United States, we highly recommend purchasing additional accessories and spares to avoid having to make small purchases in the future should the need arise.
