Daedalus & Akerworks Teaming Up!

Alright, my favorite people, I have some super exciting news. I actually kind of feel like Santa’s little elf, to Adan Akerman's Santa Claus. That’s right, I’m about to say what you think I'm about to say. WE HAVE AKERKATES!!! Yes, I shouted, and I will ask you to do the same. Pass the word along. Akerworks AKERKATES are in production exclusively for Daedalus Spinning Wheels.

We are excited to announce that we have coaxed Adan into making us Akerkates, which will allow for the continued sales of kates exclusively through our shop. While it saddens us that Akerworks has had to step away from the fiber side of their business, we are thankful that we are able to help keep at least part of it alive. Each quarter, we will be receiving a predetermined amount of AkerKates with both 4 Shaft (Standard) and 2 Shaft (Extra Long - Magpie) in Cherry, Maple, and Walnut to sell in our online shop. We will divide these shipments into 3 groups and space out the release, one at the beginning of each month. They will be first come, first served, and when they sell out each month, they will then be gone until the beginning of the next month. I expect that at the beginning of this process, the kates will sell quickly, but this is a long-term association, and we will get more.

We have just received our first shipment and will be posting them live to the shop immediately. In order to provide everyone with the opportunity to purchase an Akerworks AkerKate, we will be limiting orders to 1 kate per person until we determine that orders have stabilized. If you purchase 2, the second will be refunded. Thank you so much for bearing with us as we attempt to satisfy the demand for a quality lazy kate.

The Akerworks AkerKate 4 shaft (Standard) Lazy Kate accommodates up to four jumbo bobbins as large as 4.75" (121mm) in diameter and 6.75" (171mm) tall.

This AkerKate is ideal to be used with our Dove, Sparrow, Martin, Starling V3, Starling V3FP, Starling V1/V2 Mini, and Falcon.

The Akerworks AkerKate 2 Shaft (Magpie) Lazy Kate has longer shafts than the classic AkerKate (two at 11.5", 290mm).

This Long-Shaft AkerKate accommodates extra-long bobbins such as the Daedalus Magpie, Blackbird, and Starling V1/V2 XL.
